Biography
Hi! I’m Grace, I’m 36 years old with messy hair that’s now peppered with grey hairs. I live in Essex, with my partner and our 2 cats
Here’s the bit where I tell you what fine art degrees I have etc etc but I don’t.
To be honest I didn’t even pass GCSE Art because I didn’t complete the coursework required due to a rubbish part of my life. This “grade” then halted me and the progression of my work for at least a decade.
Anyway I’ve learnt to hone what I do purely through experience and experimentation, both good and bad. I have been creating all my life and my mediums range but primarily I like to work with hard materials such as wood and metals.
All my work now is reclaimed from somewhere, either driftwood from the river, wood that was once something else, a broken clock or other mechanism that is then ripped apart.
I bring new life to the unwanted in a nutshell.
I was exhibiting at Well House Gallery for nearly 3 years but don’t any more. I am currently looking for a new place to house my work particularly the Penny Black work.
My output and direction is constantly changing and so I am unlikely to produce what I did several years ago. I used to make Rocking Horses for a living once but don’t do that any more.
